AMMPE (Asociación Mundial de Mujeres Periodistas y Escritoras) established its first UK chapter around 2019 to support women journalists and writers. The organization, often associated with promoting women in media, has held congresses addressing issues like violence against women, with participation from UK representatives.

UK Focus: The UK chapter was announced with a focus on connecting women in journalism, featuring speakers such as Cameroonian journalist Mimi Mefo. Activity: The network was, as of 2018, seeking volunteers to help with its online presence and activity in the UK. Context: It functions as part of a global, non-governmental, non-profit organization promoting professional excellence, freedom of expression, and solidarity among female journalists.
